Why has the FTSE 100 gone up so much?

The FTSE 100 has gone up about 700 points in the last couple of months, reaching new all time highs.

If the media is to be believed, this is due to reduced tensions in the middle east, the prospect of interest rate cuts, and the pound being weak (which means USD investors can buy more for their money).

However, interest rates have been virtually non-existent for the last decade, middle-east tensions have largely been the same during that period, and the pound was much weaker (particularly after Liz Truss), yet the FTSE didn't rocket like it has now.

The recent price increase of the FTSE 100 seems more like something you'd expect from the US indexes that are filled with tech / growth stocks. The FTSE is very much a 'slow and steady wins the race' index, and the dividend yield has remained more or less the same at just under 4%. So I really don't get why it's so in demand all of a sudden. Anyone have any ideas?
