What happens re CGT and market value when stocks split?

This might not be the right forum but I guess someone here will know the answer. I hold NVDA stock and in a few weeks it will split 10 to 1. What happens with regards to CGT in this situation?

Example – I have units of NVDA stock that I bought for $400. Today the value is $1038. Great gains, $600 a share, but if I want to sell 10 shares for example I will be liable for CGT.

If i wait til the split, I will have 10 times the number of shares, but they´ll be worth about $100 market value. Does this erase the original market value?

Sorry If this is super basic, I havent been in this situation before.
