I have a contract of VMWare call expired Jan (strike price $180). Ameritrade told me that the option was adjusted to represent $14,250 per contract and no shares. Even if I exercise, I would just be paying $180 per share for nothing, no VMWare share and thus, no Broadcom share. How can it be possible? I thought, in the worst case, I could get some VMWare shares back.
