Hi, I made a mistake today that probably belongs better on r/wallstreetbets, but I wanted to check here to see if there is anything I can do. For the past couple of weeks I have held 9 shares of SMCI (the ride was a lot of fun). I am quite a new investor, but I thought I was being diligent by periodically setting stop loss orders. I set one today for 870, but I did not set a limit…. they sold automatically for 87 euros each, and I lost 8000 euros. I feel sick. I know this is my fault, but is this normal? To sell automatically at one tenth of the price? Some part of me hopes this is some kind of glitch on the brokers end, but I know it’s not. Goddammit.
