I‘m rather new to investing in stocks. I have a question regarding when I will qualify for a dividend. The broker app says tomorrow 1pm for a certain stock. Does it mean I can sell the stock like a minute later and still get the dividend? I am confused about this after doing some research. I found this information on the company website:
Last day including right: March 18, 2024
Ex-date: March 19, 2024
Record date: March 20, 2024
Payment date: March 26, 2024 (on or about)
Do I understand this correctly that you have to own the stock on the 18th of March to get a dividend. One day later will be the deadline. No specific time given tho. Payment will follow on the 26th.
What does the record date stand for? That‘s when the dividend will be processed? I don‘t have to own the stock at that day anymore right?
