Making profit from a stagnant ETF.

Hey everyone. I’m fairly new to the market and back in 2020ish, I had the “infallible” logic that since airlines were in the hole, that investing in the low of the JETS ETF would have been a no-brainer. Keep your roasts to a minimum. It is deserved, but I’m still sore.

That being said, the decision was made. And 4 years later, I’m still in the red. My coworker suggested trying covered options, but frankly, those are mildly confusing to me.

Does anyone have advice on how to turn around this ETF so I can liquidate some of this L and reinvest it into better places? Also, pretend I’m 5 years old and refrain from tossing the jargon at me. I’ll just feel more dumb.

Edit: This has been very informative!
