I started seriously following the stock market about 6 months ago, and it honestly has made me dislike our current system more and more. Why do layoffs make shareholders happy? Why does making a product shittier for the average person (i.e. streaming with ads/cracking down on password sharing, using cheaper materials) increase the stock price?
Like yes the profits go up but I wonder why it has to be like this. Open to counter arguments or optimism😃
